Skill Center and Mentoring Sessions will be held on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9AM-Noon. New and prospective members are always welcome – no experience is necessary. The Club Store will be open at this time.
Drop-in Saturday will be on the 4th Saturday of the month held in the Skill Center from 9AM-Noon for Members of all levels of are invited to come.
At a Skill Center Session, new turners will get a safety orientation and an opportunity to turn an object and make some shavings. For novice and experienced turners, Mentors are usually available for one-on-one mentoring. Please contact Jim Oates if you have a specific request for mentoring so we can ensure we have enough mentors to meet the need. You do not have to be a CVW member to attend a Saturday Skill Session.

Mentoring Program – One-on-One
Central Virginia Woodturners has several experienced members who have volunteered to be mentors for one-on-one instruction. This program, an officially sanctioned CVW club event, is for existing and prospective club members who want to expend their expertise or would like to learn new techniques. To set up a Mentoring session please contact the Skill Center Coordinator Jim Oates.
Please note that CVW is the sponsor and coordinator of this activity and mentees are encouraged to join CVW as a show of appreciation and support.
