The Virginia Woodturners Symposium is November 2-3, 2024 at the EXPO center in Fishersville.
Central Virginia Woodturners is again the local host due to our proximity to the EXPO. Jeff Corwin has already put out a request for folks to host the professional demonstrators – if you can host someone in your home for the weekend, please contact Jeff.
CVW is responsible for equipping and staffing one of the seven demonstration areas (PODS). Other Virginia clubs will be responsible for the other demonstration areas. We will be providing a Powermatic lathe, overhead and floor cameras, lighting and two folks to run our cameras and monitor the equipment during the demonstrations. A/V volunteers are expected to staff at least four hours of demonstrations and in turn will get free admission to the Symposium.
We also need many volunteers to help us move equipment (lathes, sharpening stand, signage, easels, cameras, electrical equipment, lights, etc.) from the Skill Center to the Symposium and set it up starting at 9AM – 3 PM-ish Friday November 1. We will also need help dismantling and moving equipment back to the Skill Center after the last demonstration at 3 PM on Sunday. Please let us know if you can assist or just show up!
Thanks to Mike Diehl for giving us a big TV for our demo area.
